Deep Tide TechFlow message: On April 24, according to Bloomberg, U.S. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren raised questions about the regulatory approval process for the cryptocurrency bank Erebor. A fundraising document obtained by Warren’s office shows that the bank obtained a banking license within months, sparking “serious concerns” about whether political connections may have influenced the approval process. Erebor was co-founded by Palmer Luckey (founder of defense startup Anduril Industries) and others. Luckey has previously said publicly that he made donations to multiple pro-Trump groups. Warren has now asked relevant parties to provide further clarification on the approval details.
