Gold Finance reports that on April 24th, according to CCTV International News, on the afternoon of April 23rd local time, U.S. President Trump told the media at an event in the White House that he could reach an agreement with Iran now, but he wants the agreement to be “permanently” effective, so that Iran will never have the opportunity to possess nuclear weapons. Therefore, he is not in a hurry. Trump said, “There is enough time,” “No pressure at all,” “The real pressure is on Iran,” and under the U.S. naval blockade, “it is impossible to restore oil transportation.” If Iran does not want to reach an agreement, he will “use military means to complete the remaining tasks.”
When asked whether he would consider using nuclear weapons against Iran, Trump replied “no,” and said that even if the U.S. does not launch a nuclear strike, Iran has been “completely destroyed.” When reporters asked why the fight was not resolved within the 4 to 6 weeks initially mentioned, Trump repeatedly referred to the 18-year U.S. Vietnam War, and also claimed that the U.S. had already “militarily taken Iran” within 6 weeks, and now it is just a matter of “both sides taking a break.” (Dongxin News Agency)
