Nike will cut approximately 1,400 jobs in the latest round of layoffs.

BlockBeats news. April 24, according to Fox News: Nike announced on Thursday that about 1,400 people in its global operations team will be laid off.

In a memo to employees, Chief Operating Officer Venkatesh Alagirisamy said the layoffs will mainly affect Nike’s technology department, covering North America, Asia, and Europe, accounting for less than 2% of the company’s total global employees.

Alagirisamy wrote, “This is not a new direction, but the next phase of the work currently underway.” At the time this statement was released, Nike was restructuring its business through a series of layoffs.
