CoinWorld News reported that Wang Zhicheng, Director of the Copyright Management Bureau of the Publicity Department, said at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that this year the plan is to include copyright protection in the cultural and creative sector in the “Sword Net 2026” special action to crack down on online infringement and piracy. The focus will be on strengthening copyright protection for book publishing, films and TV dramas, cultural and creative works in both long and short video formats, and their derivatives, and on severely cracking down on acts of unauthorized illegal copying, dissemination, production, and sales of infringing and pirated products. Meanwhile, efforts will be made to ensure industry oversight and upstream governance, so as to form a concerted force for copyright protection in key areas. Wang Zhicheng also noted that copyright issues brought about by artificial intelligence are likewise a hot topic that has attracted widespread social attention, and relevant research will be conducted comprehensively from aspects including legislation, law enforcement, development, and international cooperation.
