It’s all about human nature.

1. After you refuse someone, if you feel no guilt, it shows you’ve grown up.
2. Don’t be afraid to offend anyone. No matter who leaves, you can still live.
3. After you’re past thirty, you finally come to understand how vast the sky is and how deep the earth is.
4. Flying with a phoenix means you’ll be a handsome bird; walking with tigers and wolves means you’ll be a fierce beast.
5. What makes it truly clothes is getting through the wear; what makes it truly a wife is growing old together.
6. A husband is still best when he’s your own; a wife is always closer than anyone else.
7. If you have no money, don’t step too forward when you speak.
8. Cowering before the weak and showing off toward the strong is human nature. Being kind with no boundaries is weakness.
9. In the workplace, how you get by can only protect you, but it can’t help you win in competition.
10. People who look down on you are all people you know.
11. People who can betray you are all the ones closest to you and the ones you trust the most.
12. Pretend you’re poor in front of acquaintances, and brag in front of strangers.
13. When you go back and forth with someone when talking about feelings, you often end up raising them into a backstabber—the kind that turns its back on you.
14. The more this society lacks something, the more it hypes and flaunts it.
15. People who don’t talk much are basically hard-bitten characters.
