The Greater Bay Area construction continues to make efforts, with residents of the three cities sharing policy dividends

Since the beginning of this year, the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has continued to advance, with impressive economic achievements, ongoing infrastructure improvements, and shared policy benefits among residents of the three regions. The Greater Bay Area’s first “Hualong One” nuclear power unit—the China General Nuclear Guangdong Taipingling Nuclear Power Project Unit 1—has been put into operation and is generating electricity, with an annual output of over 9 billion kilowatt-hours. After all six units of the project are completed, the expected annual power generation will exceed 55 billion kilowatt-hours, which can annually reduce coal consumption equivalent to about 16.65 million tons of standard coal, and cut carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 50.82 million tons.
