Iran Activates Air Defense System to Address Small Drones

On April 24, according to a report by the Iranian Fars News Agency on the 23rd, Iran activated its air defense system in response to the emergence of small drones in several locations across the country. The report indicated that the activation of the air defense system in the capital Tehran and several other cities was triggered by the detection of small drones, including the Israeli “Orbiter” reconnaissance drones. Iranian media reported that earlier that evening, explosions were heard over Tehran as the air defense system was activated and fired at “hostile targets.” Several Israeli media outlets later cited their sources stating that Israel did not launch airstrikes against Iran.
