Trump: Military Action Against Iran Not Ruled Out, Strait of Hormuz Open Depends on Agreement Progress
On April 24, U.S. President Trump stated that an agreement regarding Iran could be reached now, but he hopes to achieve the best possible deal; he desires a ‘lasting’ agreement. The Strait of Hormuz will be opened upon reaching an agreement or meeting other conditions. If Iran does not wish to reach an agreement, military means will be employed to strike the remaining 25% of targets. Trump mentioned that U.S. vessels have locked onto targets and are on standby, emphasizing that currently ‘the time pressure is on Iran, not the United States.’
