Trump Reiterates 'No Rush' and 'No Pressure' in Pursuing a 'Permanent Agreement' with Iran
On April 24, U.S. President Trump emphasized again on April 23 that he feels no pressure and is not in a hurry to reach an agreement with Iran regarding the end of hostilities. He expressed a desire to achieve the ‘best’ and ‘permanent’ agreement. In a social media post that day, Trump stated that time is on the U.S. side, claiming he is ‘perhaps the one with the least psychological pressure,’ adding, ‘I have all the time in the world, while Iran does not.’ He noted that the situation will only become increasingly unfavorable for Iran, asserting that ‘time is not on their side.’ Trump indicated that he could reach an agreement with Iran right now but wants it to be ‘permanently’ effective, ensuring that Iran never has the opportunity to possess nuclear weapons. Therefore, he does not want to rush himself, stating, ‘We have plenty of time.’ When asked if he would consider using nuclear weapons against Iran, Trump replied, ‘No,’ and asserted that even without launching a nuclear strike, the U.S. has already ‘completely destroyed’ Iran.
