Paradigm Investment Project Succinct launches anti-AI forgery camera app ZCAM

Odaily Planet Daily News reports that Succinct Labs, supported by Paradigm, has released the iPhone camera app ZCAM, which uses cryptographic technology to generate “digital fingerprints” for photos and videos to address the forgery risks brought by AI-generated content (AIGC).

ZCAM can sign images at the moment of capture, creating an immutable record, and bind the content to the capturing device, allowing users to independently verify whether the material comes from a genuine device, has been tampered with, or was AI-generated.

Unlike solutions that rely on AI detection, Succinct chooses to start from the device hardware layer, generating a unique cryptographic signature for each shot. The company states that existing AI detection tools are prone to failure, and this approach can improve the reliability of authenticity verification.

Similar projects also include World, which reduces risk by distinguishing between real humans and AI identities.
