I saw that people on Polymarket are putting a 65% chance of NFTs returning in 2026 - it's the record so far. People really believe that NFTs will have a comeback this year.

The market has $3 billion in capitalization, so it's not insignificant. There was a 2% drop today along with the overall market, but trading volume increased by 26% in the last 24 hours - reaching $4.5 million. There's movement, that's a fact.

Now, the truth is that NFTs are still far from the 2021-2022 peak. CryptoPunks has fallen 80% from the top, Bored Apes lost 95%. Even with recent gains, those who bought high are taking heavy losses. To return to the previous $15 billion, it would need to quintuple.

The problem is that no one has solved the lack of utility. Until that changes, it's hard to believe NFTs will really go back to what they were. Nike even sold its RTFKT platform, and X2Y2 shut down. Too many mixed signals to bet everything on this now.
