Iran Develops Countermeasures Against Potential U.S. and Allied Military Actions

On April 24, according to a report by the Iranian Fars News Agency on the 23rd, in light of the failure of diplomatic solutions and a “complete distrust” of U.S. negotiation sincerity, Iran has formulated countermeasures against potential military actions by the U.S. and its allies based on the principles of “reciprocal response” and “offensive deterrence.” The report outlines some of Iran’s response plans. If Iranian power plants are attacked, missiles and drones will target power plants in Israel and other U.S. allies in the region; if Iran’s oil and gas infrastructure is attacked, strikes will be carried out on key oil and gas facilities of Israel and other U.S. allies, reducing their daily oil production equivalent by 25 million barrels for a duration of one year.
