Bitcoin Stalls Below $80,000 as New U.S.-China AI Dispute Hurts Sentiment

Bitcoin traded near $78,000 on Thursday and again failed to break $80,000 as fresh U.S.-China friction hurt risk sentiment. Michael Kratsios said in a White House memo that foreign entities based in China are running industrial-scale campaigns to distill U.S. frontier AI systems. On Deribit, the $80,000 call was the most popular options trade with $1.78 billion in notional value.
