Chinese side: Should avoid the escalation of Middle Eastern conflicts from impacting Syria's security and stability

On the 22nd local time, the United Nations Security Council held a meeting on the political and humanitarian issues in Syria. Chinese Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, stated that the tense situation in the Middle East continues, with spillover effects constantly spreading, bringing new complex factors to the already fragile situation in Syria. Currently, the situation is at a critical stage of transition between war and peace, and China calls on relevant parties to seize the window of peace, exercise maximum restraint, show the greatest sincerity, and continue to resolve disputes through political and diplomatic means to achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire. The international community should work together to prevent the escalation and expansion of Middle East conflicts, which could impact Syria’s security and stability. (CCTV News)
