US Lawmakers Propose Warrant Requirement for Federal AI Surveillance

US Representatives Thomas Massie and Lauren Boebert proposed the Surveillance Accountability Act to require federal agencies to obtain a judicial warrant before using AI for data analysis and surveillance. The bill targets the third-party doctrine loophole and would also address biometric surveillance, license plate recognition, and lawsuits against the government over Fourth Amendment violations.
