Some Illinois water customers could cut bills by more than half

Illinois American Water has launched a pilot program to help eligible customers receive water and wastewater bill discounts of 10%-80%. The program uses text message outreach via a partner called Promise for quick eligibility screening and streamlined enrollment into the Income-Based Discount Program, administered by Dollar Energy Fund. This initiative aims to increase awareness of existing assistance programs and simplify the application process for those who qualify.
