Spain dismantles pirated comic website, seizes encrypted cold wallet with a stake of 400k euros
Odaily Planet Daily News: Spanish authorities have seized two cryptocurrency cold wallets during an operation targeting illegal comic distribution platforms, containing approximately 400k euros (about $467k) in assets. The operation was carried out by the Almeria police in Spain, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the dismantling of what is believed to be the country’s largest Spanish-language pirated comic website. The platform has reportedly been offering free pirated content since 2014, mainly monetized through advertising, with total earnings exceeding 4 million euros over the past decade. Notably, the involved cold wallets were hidden inside wall-mounted thermometers. Authorities have not disclosed whether they have obtained the relevant private keys or access to the funds.
