Burgum Says Trump's Order Against Mine-Laying Ships Is Not an Escalation

U.S. Interior Secretary Burgum said President Trump’s order to act against vessels laying mines is not an escalation. Iran reportedly prepared response plans for several scenarios under what it calls proportional response and offensive deterrence. Those scenarios include strikes on regional energy infrastructure and possible moves against the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and Strait of Hormuz if a maritime blockade continues or escalates.
