Sam Altman批评Anthropic以“恐惧营销”推广Claude Mythos,引发AI安全争议

Odaily Planet Daily News: OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that competitors Anthropic has used a “fear-based marketing strategy” when promoting their new model Claude Mythos, and related safety risk warnings may be exaggerated.

Sam Altman pointed out that emphasizing the potential dangers of AI helps justify “control of AI by a few institutions,” and although some safety concerns do exist, overhyping the risks is also an effective marketing tactic.

Previously, Claude Mythos attracted widespread attention for its ability to automatically discover software vulnerabilities and simulate complex network attacks. Anthropic is currently opening testing access through a restricted program to a select few institutions, including Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft.

Overall, this incident highlights the growing divergence in the AI industry between the “safety-first” and “open development” approaches. (Decrypt)
