Ripple Teaser From Vegas Sparks Hype: Swell and Apex Unite for the Biggest XRP Event in History
Ripple confirms that the main Swell 2026 conference will return to New York on October 27 to 29. For the first time, the company will also combine the XRPL Apex developer summit into the same series of events.
The Swell 2026 announcement comes shortly after Ripple shared a mysterious post, further adding to the buzz around the upcoming XRP Las Vegas event.
One Stage for the Financial World and the Builders
Swell, first held in 2017, typically features representatives from banks, payment companies, regulators, and major corporate partners. Meanwhile, XRPL Apex functions as the official developer summit venue, covering smart contracts, tokenization, and roadmap discussions for the XRP Ledger.
Ripple said that merging the two events will bring all parts of their ecosystem together in one room, preventing participant separation caused by differences in schedules.
Speaker registration opened on April 14, 2026. The company also confirmed that Swell will return to New York for its second year, according to the event’s website.
The event is taking place as XRP trades near US$1.42 with a market capitalization of about US$87 million, according to CoinGecko data. This milestone places XRP as the fourth-largest asset in the world by value. The momentum is also supported by the growing and increasing XRPL Ripple funding program, along with rising interest in real-world asset tokenization.
Ripple’s Big Strategy
Merging these two conferences signals Ripple’s effort to ensure that XRP is not only known as a retail asset, but also as a financial infrastructure. The previous edition, Swell 2025, featured officials from BlackRock and Nasdaq and focused on the tokenization market.
Bringing Apex to the main event gives Ripple an opportunity to showcase builder activity alongside offerings for institutions—from launching EVM sidechains, adopting smart contracts, to early discussions on XRPL staking.
This broader coverage could help investors determine whether XRP’s use aligns with its current asset price narrative.
Not all community members agree that one stage can accommodate everyone. Some XRP holders on X welcomed this combined format, but others are worried that the developer sessions will be overshadowed by the agendas of major companies.
Ripple’s full agenda over the next few weeks will determine whether this move succeeds. Choosing New York as the location also further reinforces the city as Ripple’s financial narrative hub for the second consecutive year.
