The "large transfer" you see might have already happened several minutes ago, and the site you're viewing hasn't even caught up with the previous and subsequent transactions. As a result, when the community sees a hot wallet or cold wallet move, they start interpreting it as "smart money coming in." Honestly, it might just be that the on-chain picture you're seeing is a half-step behind.

Whenever I see this kind of chart, I first switch to two different RPCs, then compare the raw transaction hash in the browser to confirm it's not the indexer messing up… My roommate also complains: "Watching a transfer is like doing archaeology." Anyway, I’d rather confirm slowly than be led by delayed "truths" and chase the market with emotions.
