Abstract generation in progress

According to Beating Monitoring by Yudongcha, Tencent has released a preview of its latest flagship Hy3 model from the Hunyuan series. The model uses a MoE (Mixture of Experts—multiple small expert networks activated on demand) architecture, with a total of 295 billion parameters and 21 billion active parameters. The model has been deployed on the OpenRouter API and a HuggingFace demo, but the open-source weights have not yet been released. This is the first flagship model led by Shunyu Yao, a former OpenAI researcher and Tencent’s Chief AI Scientist after joining, and it is also the result of less than 3 months after Tencent rebuilt its foundational model R&D system in February this year.

Tencent describes it as “comparable to top domestic models, but still behind cutting-edge U.S. models such as OpenAI and Google DeepMind.” The model focuses on agent capabilities, with adaptation and optimization specifically for mainstream agent tools such as OpenClaw. It supports a 262.1K context window and a three-tier reasoning mode. It has already been deployed in Tencent products such as Yuanbao and CodeBuddy.
