Nestlé responds to infant formula recall: the related withdrawal process has been completed, and product supply has now returned to normal.
On April 23rd, Nestlé disclosed in its financial report that in January 2026, after detecting Bacillus cereus vomiting toxin, Nestlé initiated a preventive recall of relevant batches of infant formula worldwide. The issue was caused by raw materials supplied by a global industry supplier. The recall process was completed in the first quarter, and the company is now focused on replenishing inventory to ensure parents can access the necessary products in a timely manner. Product supply has now returned to normal. In the first quarter of 2026, the infant formula recall event had an overall impact of approximately -90 basis points on organic growth rate, with about half of the impact coming from product returns, phased shortages, and subsequent restocking, and the other half stemming from consumer demand. Currently, the company has observed initial signs of improvement and expects a full recovery by the end of this year. (Jiemian News)
