Golden Finance reports that on April 23, citing Reuters, SpaceX may be facing one of the biggest challenges in its chip business: manufacturing the key components that power artificial intelligence, namely graphics processing units, (GPU). Before SpaceX’s anticipated 1.75 trillion U.S. dollars initial public offering, (IPO), this summer, the company has already warned potential investors about its planned large spending on developing artificial intelligence and other technologies. According to an S-1 filing excerpt reviewed by Reuters, the company lists “manufacturing our own GPU” as one of its ongoing “significant capital expenditures.” The company submitted this document to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in order to disclose its risks and financial condition before going public.
