Ceasefire extended for only 5 days? This isn't peace; it's a countdown.
Extending the ceasefire by only 3 to 5 days is actually quite rare. Generally speaking, if there's genuine intent to negotiate, a longer window is given; but this current timeframe feels more like a countdown timer.
Donald Trump's logic is simple: prevent long-term stability, forcing the other side to make decisions within a short period. This strategy is common in business negotiations—"Offers are valid today, expire if not accepted."
But the problem is, Iran's internal system isn't one that can make quick decisions. Hardliners and the government have clear disagreements, plus the top leadership hasn't made a clear statement, meaning the decision-making chain is long and complex.
In other words, the U.S. is using "short-cycle pressure" against a "long-cycle decision-making system." These two rhythms are inherently mismatched.
What’s the result? Probably not a quick agreement, but rather a tug-of-war with "timing mismatch."
From a risk perspective, this situation is actually more dangerous. Because the shorter the time, the higher the chance of misjudgment. If both sides believe "the other won't make concessions," military options will re-enter the priority list.
So these 3-5 days are not really an opportunity window but a stress test.
If the test fails, the next step won't be negotiation but escalation. #美伊二轮谈判进展
