Can AI and the U.S.-Japan Defense Dialogue Address the Delays in the Delivery of Tomahawk Missiles?

【Global Times report, Reporter Zhang Jiangping】According to a report by Bloomberg News in the U.S. on March 3, due to the large consumption of stockpiles by the United States in its military actions against Iran, hundreds of “Tomahawk” missiles Japan ordered from the U.S. may be delayed in delivery.

Bloomberg reports that people familiar with the matter said the United States fired several hundred “Tomahawk” missiles in attacks targeting Iran. Washington has informed Tokyo that the plan to deliver about 400 missiles by March 2028 will be affected. The sources also said that the U.S. stated its current top priority is to ensure the supply of weapons and equipment for actions targeting Iran.

The report also says that Japan’s Defense Minister Koizumi Shinjiro and U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth held two phone calls in mid-March to discuss the U.S.-Iran conflict involving Israel. People familiar with the matter said the two discussed the supply of “Tomahawk” missiles in at least one of the calls.

Bloomberg reports that the Pentagon declined to comment, and Japan’s Ministry of Defense also did not respond to the request for comment.
