Casino operator Las Vegas Sands quarterly profit rises on Macau, Singapore demand

Las Vegas Sands reported a higher first-quarter profit, driven by strong demand in its Macau and Singapore businesses. The casino operator’s shares rose over 2% after the announcement. Revenue from Singapore operations increased 27.9% to $1.49 billion, and Macau operations saw a 23.7% rise to $2.11 billion, leading to a quarterly adjusted profit of 91 cents per share, exceeding analyst expectations.
