Although I received an invitation to the hackathon, I didn’t make it to the Hong Kong Web3 Carnival in person to experience the atmosphere firsthand due to time constraints, but through posts from major media outlets, you can really feel that the atmosphere on site was absolutely amazing!

It can be said that this Hong Kong Web3 Carnival is not just a “celebration” for domestic Web3 practitioners—it’s an international Web3 get-together, and also a high-intensity “energy gathering” moment for the Web3 ecosystem!
Global developers, investors, project teams, and industry leaders gathered in Hong Kong, sparking hot discussions and collaboration signals that far exceeded expectations. Unlike simple marketing hype designed to create buzz, it conveys a pragmatic, future-oriented industry consensus: Web3 is no longer confined to conceptual narratives, but has entered a real stage of “connect- incubate- implement.”
At this point, we have to talk about the hackathon that was held!
It’s said that the organizers underestimated everyone’s enthusiasm: the venue was too small, which resulted in a packed crowd—people lining up to control entry at the entrance, with many stuck there for half a day and unable to squeeze in, making it look just like the “Spring Festival travel rush” scene 😂
From media coverage of the hackathon, I learned that
It wasn’t just about running one competition—it was building a complete ecosystem closed loop: from the liquidity engine of exchanges, to TRON’s underlying network support, to Ventures’ investment and incubation, as well as the DAO governance framework, and even layering AI infrastructure like BAI_AGI, forming a “five-in-one” matrix of “Exchange-DAO-Public Chain-Investment-AI.”
During the on-site sharing, it was made clear that the million-dollar-level Grant fund would be used specifically for early-stage support for AI×Web3, adopting a phased support model of “early validation- mid-term data- late-stage additional funding,” emphasizing “no focus on concepts—only on results.”
Sun Ge also said online: AI Agents may reshape Web3 interaction paradigms, and they’re paving the way with concrete actions—this isn’t short-term hype, but long-termism put into practice.
Compared with some events that only focus on grabbing attention, the hackathon’s pragmatic style is evident. Even though the booths aren’t spectacular and the venue isn’t large, the projects that showed up are indeed top-notch!
My biggest takeaway from the hackathon is that it’s proving that even during industry downturns, established platforms can still leverage brand influence and resource integration to continuously deliver high-value content, and help truly promising projects move from idea to product.
My biggest feeling from this Hong Kong Web3 Carnival is: the industry is returning to fundamentals—connecting people with resources, empowering innovation and execution.
And the hot on-site scene of the hackathon, along with the build spirit, is a microcosm of all of that. It reminds us that amid volatility in the crypto market, the force truly driving long-term value is still the people who steadily build infrastructure and support developers.
With this hackathon as the kickoff, I’m looking forward to more similar events in the future, so that Web3 enthusiasm can genuinely be converted into scalable results!
