Just saw this crazy news from Hong Kong—a businessman in his mid-20s got detained and robbed at a hotel in Hung Hom. Four guys forced him to hand over his crypto wallet and basically cleaned him out of over 680k USD worth of digital assets. They also took 42kg of silver from his company. The total loss? More than HK$6 million. The businessman got roughed up pretty bad during the whole thing but managed to get released the next morning and report it to police. By then the suspects had already bolted. Kowloon City Police is treating it as unlawful imprisonment and extortion. Wild that this kind of targeted attack on a businessman still happens—makes you think about how risky it is moving that kind of value around, especially when dealing in crypto and commodities at the same time. How do these guys even know who to target like this?
