Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried ((SBF) has officially withdrawn his Rule 33 motion seeking a new trial, and in a letter to New York Judge Lewis Kaplan, he stated that he does not believe he can obtain a "fair hearing" in front of the opposing party. SBF indicated that he might refile the motion after a direct appeal and related judicial reassignment requests are decided. SBF also detailed the drafting process of the motion in the letter, asserting that he independently conducted the majority of legal research and drafted the document while in prison, with only his parents providing organizational and printing assistance.
