I heard about a vulnerability news in Chrome, and it sounds pretty serious. Malicious extensions can escalate privileges through the Gemini panel. It's a vulnerability called CVE-2026-0628, which could allow access to cameras and microphones, take screenshots without permission, or steal local files. It's a bit scary.

Since Google released a patch during winter, it seems fairly safe now if you upgrade to Chrome 143.0.7499.192 or later. Extensions are convenient, but I realize there are risks like this. Especially, extensions from unknown developers should be approached with caution. For people who have been using Chrome for a long time, it's important to check the version and keep it up to date. Security may seem subtle, but every time such vulnerabilities are found, it emphasizes their importance.
