Italy Plans to Deploy Four Vessels to the Strait of Hormuz

On April 23, the Chief of Staff of the Italian Navy, Admiral Bergetto, announced that Italy intends to send a task force consisting of four vessels to the Strait of Hormuz, including two minesweepers, one escort ship, and one logistics support ship. Bergetto emphasized that Italy will not act alone but will participate within the framework of an international coalition. Other countries in Europe, including France, the UK, and a joint minesweeping force from the Netherlands and Belgium, will also deploy minesweepers.
