I just read that U.S. authorities confiscated 61 million in USDT related to crypto romance scams. Honestly, every time I see these news stories, it confirms how dangerous this space can be if you don’t know what you’re doing.
What surprises me the most is how these scams work: they create fake profiles, slowly make you fall in love, and then convince you to invest in fraudulent platforms with promises of absurd returns. Then they deny withdrawals or ask for more money for "taxes." It’s literally the classic scheme, but people keep falling for it.
The investigators tracked the money through multiple crypto wallets used to launder the stolen funds. And this isn’t isolated; recently, they confiscated 400 million linked to Helix. It seems crypto continues to be used as a tool for massive scams, which is a reality many ignore when entering the market.
It’s not meant to scare, but you definitely need to be more careful. Has anyone else seen cases like this in their circle?
