Shanghai: Accelerating Research on Next-Generation General Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Software

On April 21, the Shanghai Municipal Government Office issued the “Implementation Plan for the National Digital Economy Innovation Development Experimental Zone (Shanghai).” The plan emphasizes the need to tackle challenges in intelligent technology. It aims to accelerate research on next-generation general artificial intelligence, intelligent software, and intelligent computing systems. The initiative will systematically promote scientific intelligence, implement the “Hundred Groups and Hundred Projects” program, and incubate innovative enterprises. It also seeks to drive breakthroughs in collaborative reasoning technologies between general scientific large models and disciplinary models, while enhancing research on structured representation of scientific data, scientific data governance toolchains, and intelligent agents for scientific experiments.
