Last night before bed, I was writing a script to capture event logs. Even though the transaction has already appeared on the chain, my data still "lags for a moment." At first, I thought it was my internet connection acting up... but then I remembered: many people aren’t looking at the on-chain data itself, but at the indexer/Subgraph that first processes the logs before presenting them to you. There’s queuing and synchronization involved; when RPC rate limiting kicks in, you get a 429 error, and it feels like the data is suddenly a half-step behind. To put it simply, it’s not that “the chain has stopped,” but that the route you’re asking for data through is congested. Recently, hardware wallets have been out of stock, and phishing links are everywhere. Now, I even pause for two seconds when I see a “Reconnect Wallet/Retry Signature” popup—better late data than accidentally slipping up and losing access... Anyway, that’s how it is for now.
