IDF: Head of Iran's military petroleum department killed in airstrike

The Israel Defense Forces issued a statement on the 2nd stating that Jamshid Eshaki, head of Iran’s military petroleum sector, was killed in an airstrike earlier this week on Tehran, the capital of Iran. The IDF said that Eshaki was responsible for managing the petroleum sector, which is an important part of Iran’s armed forces, providing funding for military activities through oil revenues. Eshaki had long been in charge of related financial operations and participated in providing funding for military projects such as missile production. The IDF also stated that Eshaki was involved in financing Iran’s “Resistance Axis” allies, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi armed groups in Yemen. Iran has not yet responded to the above information from Israel. (Xinhua International)
