Just been watching the charts and there's something interesting brewing in the alt coins space right now. While Bitcoin's been pretty quiet lately, bouncing around in that narrow range, I'm noticing the alt coins are actually starting to show some real strength. The technical setup looks different from what we've seen in a while.
The indicators are telling a story here. MACD and RSI readings on alt coins are looking notably sharper compared to Bitcoin's sluggish momentum. That's the kind of divergence that usually gets my attention. Altcoin dominance is hovering around 7.43%, and honestly, traders seem to be waking up to the possibility that we might be entering an early phase of alt coins season.
Some solid names in the space have been pointing this out too. The improving technical signals on alt coins are pretty hard to ignore if you're actually looking at the data. What's interesting is the historical pattern here - whenever alt coins flash stronger signals than Bitcoin, they tend to move fast in the weeks that follow. Not guaranteed, but it's worth tracking.
There's caution in the market though. Global interest rates are still elevated, and that's weighing on risk appetite overall. But if Bitcoin keeps doing its sideways thing, that could actually create room for alt coins to run. I've been eyeing SEI specifically - it just broke above the 21-day moving average, which is the kind of move that could signal something bigger if the momentum holds.
The way I see it, alt coins are at an interesting inflection point. The setup is there, Bitcoin's not fighting for dominance right now, and the technicals are aligned. Whether this turns into a full alt coins season depends on a few factors, but the early signals are definitely worth paying attention to. Definitely keeping this on my radar.
