Iranian Foreign Minister: It is the United States and Israel that have caused the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz
Odaily Planet Daily reported that according to Iranian media on the 22nd, Iranian Foreign Minister Alaghazi stated that the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz is a direct result of the United States and Israel launching military strikes against a United Nations member state. The report said that Alaghazi had a phone call with Italian Foreign Minister Tayaní to exchange views on the development of regional situations and the security, legal, and economic impacts caused by U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran. Alaghazi said that Iran, as a country along the Strait of Hormuz, has taken measures in accordance with international law to safeguard national security from U.S. and Israeli aggression and threats. He emphasized that the consequences of this on the global economy should be borne by the aggressors. Alaghazi also stated that the actions of the U.S. and Israel targeting Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities are unacceptable, and that some European countries remain silent on such actions. This “double standard” is undermining international law and non-proliferation mechanisms. Tayaní emphasized that achieving peace and stability in the Persian Gulf region is crucial, and Italy is willing to play a positive role in promoting overall regional stability. (Xinhua)
