Iranian media reports that the undersea cable in the Strait of Hormuz may be at risk

Odaily Planet Daily News: Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency pointed out again on Wednesday that Gulf Arab countries may still face the risk of underwater data cable cuts in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Tasnim News Agency, “If multiple main cables are damaged simultaneously, whether due to accidents or deliberate sabotage, it could cause serious internet outages in the Persian Gulf.” Several cables cross the Strait of Hormuz. The Gulf region has previously experienced internet disruptions due to multiple cuts of submarine cables in the Red Sea. Yemen’s Houthi forces have also previously issued threats regarding the cables. (Associated Press)
