I just saw a very interesting news story about the movement of tokenized gold. Tether moved 94 tons of XAUT ( this is their tokenized gold symbol ) in the last six months, and the most impressive part is that the transaction fee was ridiculously low, only 0.0016%.

Think about it: 94 tons of gold changing hands on-chain with virtually zero cost. XAUT is basically physical gold represented as a token on the blockchain, so you can transfer ownership almost instantly without all that banking bureaucracy.

The contrast with the traditional system is striking. When central banks move physical gold, they spend a fortune on logistics, security, insurance... it’s a slow and expensive process. Now with tokenized gold, you can do the same thing at a fraction of the cost.

This kind of application clearly shows why on-chain assets are gaining traction. It’s not just about speculation or hype; it’s about real efficiency. Nearly instant settlement, minimal costs, no unnecessary intermediaries. If more institutions start using tokenized gold and other tokenized assets like this, it could significantly change how we handle value transfers.
