IDF Claims Hezbollah Violated Ceasefire Agreement

On April 22, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement claiming that Hezbollah violated the ceasefire agreement, stating that the IDF would take action to ‘eliminate threats.’ The statement noted that Hezbollah launched a drone at IDF soldiers located south of the ‘frontline’ in southern Lebanon, which the IDF described as a ‘violation of the ceasefire agreement’ and intercepted the drone. The IDF also stated that it would continue to take action to ‘eliminate any threats to Israeli civilians and military personnel.’ In another statement on the same day, the IDF reported that during operations to dismantle armed infrastructure in several areas south of the ‘frontline,’ they discovered weapons including rocket launchers, ammunition, drones, and firearms. The IDF claimed these weapons were intended for use by Hezbollah militants to attack IDF forces. Additionally, the IDF mentioned that the previous day, two armed individuals were found in the Saluki area of southern Lebanon, having ‘crossed the frontline and approached IDF soldiers,’ which the IDF deemed a ‘direct threat.’ Subsequently, the IDF conducted an airstrike on the two individuals, resulting in their deaths.
