SCHV: Unconvincing Value ETF

Abstract generation in progress

The Schwab U.S. Large-Cap Value ETF (SCHV) holds over 500 stocks based on value characteristics like P/E and price-to-book ratios. Despite its diversification, the ETF is heavily weighted in financials and has consistently underperformed the S&P 500 since its inception, as well as other value funds in recent years. The author suggests that, like many passively managed value ETFs, SCHV suffers from methodological weaknesses.
