To meet the travel demand during "May 1st," Xinjiang Railway plans to add 302 temporary passenger trains.

Reporters have learned from China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd. that this year’s “May Day” holiday railway transportation period will run from April 29 to May 6, a total of 8 days. Xinjiang railway authorities expect to transport 1.7996 million passengers, a 2% increase year-on-year, with a planned total of 302 additional temporary passenger trains. Among them, 30 temporary passenger trains will operate on the Chengdu West and Lanzhou inter-provincial routes, and 272 within Xinjiang. Regarding travel within Xinjiang, the railway department will add 116 trains to the Southern Xinjiang direction, 142 to the Northern Xinjiang direction, and 14 to the Eastern Xinjiang direction to meet passenger travel needs.
