Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met today (April 20) with San Francisco Mayor Loey, and jointly signed a new round of a cooperation and exchange memorandum between the two cities. Gong Zheng said that he looks forward to taking the signing of the new round of cooperation and exchange memorandum between the two cities as a new starting point to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as economic and trade investment, urban governance, and cultural and artistic endeavors; to support both sides’ outstanding enterprises to invest and start businesses in the other’s city; to strengthen mutual learning of experience in areas such as green and low-carbon development and urban renewal; to achieve a higher level of mutual benefits and win-win outcomes; and to make greater contributions to the development of China-U.S. relations. At the same time, he hopes to strengthen exchanges and interactions among people from all sectors of society in both places, especially young people, to encourage more people to visit and enjoy sightseeing in the other city, deepen mutual understanding, and grow closer.
