On April 22, local time, in a post on his personal social media platform, U.S. President Trump stated that at the request of the Chief of Army Staff and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the U.S. will temporarily suspend military strikes against Iran, extending the ceasefire period, and has asked Iran to first present a unified negotiation proposal. During this period, U.S. forces will continue to implement a maritime blockade against Iran while maintaining military readiness. He stated that the ceasefire will last until Iran submits a proposal and negotiations are completed, ‘regardless of the outcome.’
