This morning, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the development of industry and information technology in the first quarter of 2026.
Relevant officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed at the press conference that, focusing on key tracks such as quantum technology, clean low-carbon hydrogen, and others, more than 100 future industry innovation “unveiling and leading” tackling tasks have been deployed so far.
Currently, China has cultivated 504k high-tech enterprises, and 193 innovative industrial clusters gather 54k various innovative companies.
Promoting future industries from “laboratories” to “large markets” hinges on breaking down the bottlenecks and blockages between technological innovation and market demand.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology guides localities to build a number of provincial-level pioneer zones for future industries according to local conditions.
As of now, the first batch of 21 national manufacturing pilot platforms and 14 outstanding science and technology enterprise incubators have been selected, establishing a smooth bridge from “laboratory” to “production line.”
In the first quarter, 304 industry standards were released for upgrading traditional industries, expanding emerging industries, and planning future industries, with the added value of above-scale high-tech manufacturing increasing by 12.5% year-on-year.
Production output of industrial robots, integrated circuits, and other products increased by 33.2% and 24.3%, respectively. (CCTV News)
