BlockBeats News, April 22 — According to Reuters, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, the U.S. military has deployed Ukraine-developed anti-drone command systems Sky Map at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, with Ukrainian personnel providing on-site training. The system has been widely used in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, capable of integrating radar and multi-source sensor data to detect, identify, and intercept incoming drones.

The report pointed out that since the outbreak of the conflict, the base has been repeatedly attacked by drones and missiles, even causing damage to key equipment and casualties among personnel, highlighting the U.S. military’s insufficient ability to counter low-cost drone threats. The introduction of Ukraine’s combat-tested technology is seen as an effort by the U.S. military to accelerate addressing its shortcomings in the anti-drone field.

Analysts believe that as drones are increasingly used in modern warfare, traditional air defense systems are facing structural challenges, and currently there is no universal solution capable of comprehensively covering all types of threats.
