Recently, the market capitalization of gold has been a hot topic, and I am amazed by its scale. It apparently reached over 38 trillion dollars at its peak, and just looking at this number, you can see how small the cryptocurrency market is. Bitcoin's market cap is about 1.5 trillion dollars, and XRP is just under 90 billion dollars, so the difference from gold's market cap is overwhelming.
What’s interesting is that even in a huge market like gold, a slight percentage change can generate enormous nominal profits. In fact, gold has fallen from its peak of $5,600 to the $4,900 range, and silver has plummeted over 25%. Seeing these fluctuations helps us understand how deep and liquid the precious metals market is.
On the other hand, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and XRP are more volatile and react sensitively to market changes. There is also a view that after gold's market cap stabilizes, a major breakout could occur in the crypto market. Observing the differences in market dynamics between precious metals and cryptocurrencies is quite fascinating.
