I noticed that the market capitalization of gold is rising at an incredible pace. It increased by nearly $2.2 trillion in one day, surpassing the all-time high of $38 trillion. This is several times the valuation of XRP. While gold rose to around $5,600, silver also moved in tandem, climbing to $6.79 trillion.
However, the subsequent price movements are quite interesting. Gold dropped by 8.35%, returning to $4,908, and silver fell by 25.5% to $85. The market cap shows that small percentage changes can lead to enormous nominal gains or losses, highlighting the characteristic volatility of the precious metals market.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin has a market cap of about $1.57 trillion, and XRP around $89 billion, but cryptocurrencies are far more volatile and react more sensitively to market changes. Some analysts believe that after the peak of gold and silver, cryptocurrencies might show a significant breakout. The movements in precious metals and cryptocurrencies are entirely different markets.
