Golden Finance reports that on April 22, U.S. Navy Admiral Samuel Paparo stated at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing that Bitcoin is a “valuable computer science tool,” and its proof-of-work technology has important applications in cybersecurity, which can increase attackers’ costs, protect data, information, and command signals, and help support U.S. national security interests.
Paparo pointed out, “Beyond the economic level, it has very important computer science application value in cybersecurity.” Previously, U.S. Space Force member Jason Lowery also expressed similar views in 2023.
